Formerly: The Mayfair Syncopators

In early 2008, Alan Rogers felt the time was right for a revival of the Mayfair Syncopators under the new name Mayfair Music to reflect the wider range of styles the group now plays. The core personnel of the group now include John Mumford and John Service who both double on trombone and bass, together with Simon Palser, a fine and sensitive drummer.

They play a wide range of styles from the last 100 years, from the ragtime and novelty music of the early 20th century, jazz and popular music of the 20s onwards. The new formation have added other styles such as bossanovas and selected pieces from more recent pop music and the romantic and impressionist repertoire of classical music.

Mayfair Music can be booked in any combination for jazz club performances, concerts, parties, etc. 

The original Mayfair Syncopators trio consisted of the star clarinettist Alan Cooper, pianist Alan Rogers and drummer Tony Allen. For several years they played their individual style of music with great success at the exclusive Tiddy Dols restaurant in Mayfair, London.

Alan Rogers also led various small groups that recorded for VJM, Major Minor, Surprise and Polydor Record Companies and for many years his trio/quartet regularly appeared on BBC Radio 2.

Anfang 2008 fand Alan Rogers, dass die Zeit gekommen war für ein Revival der Mayfair Syncopators unter dem neuen Namen Mayfair Music, um das breitere Spektrum zu reflektieren, welches die Gruppe heute spielt. Der Kern der Gruppe besteht nun aus John Mumford und John Service (Beide Posaune/Bass), zusammen mit Simon Palser, ein sehr raffiniert Schlagzeuger. 

Sie spielen ein grosses Spektrum an Stilen der letzten 100 Jahre: Eine angenehme Mischung von verschiedenen Genres und Perioden: Ragtime, Novelty Musik des ersten 20. Jahrhunderts, Jazz, die populären Evergreens von den 20ern bis zu den 70ern, Bossanovas und erlesene Stücke der gegenwärtigen Popmusik. Die Gruppe spielt aber auch Stücke der klassischen Musik von der romantischen und impressionistischen Periode. 

Die Musiker können in jeder gewünschten Kombination gebucht werden für Jazz-Clubs, Konzerte, sowie für spezielle Ereignisse wie Partys und verschiedene Feiern.

The Original Mayfair Syncopators bestanden aus dem Star-Klarinettisten Alan Cooper, dem Pianisten Alan Rogers und dem Schlagzeuger Tony Allen und hatte mit ihrem individuellen Musikstil viele Jahre im exclusiven Restaurant Tiddy Dols in Mayfair in London grossen Erfolg.

Alan Rogers leitete ebenfalls verschiedene kleine Gruppen welche Aufnahmen machten mit VJM, Major Minor, Surprise und Polydor Record Companies, und sein Trio/Quartett wurde regelmässig am BBC Radio 2 übertragen.
